Senseo 7810 Coffee Maker Review

Senseo 7810

Welcome to the Senseo 7810 coffee maker review. I’m a big fan of the one cup coffee makers of which the Senseo pod coffee maker is one of the best known. The other is the Keurig coffee maker, and there are others that I plan on reviewing as time allows. But today we’ll look at the Senseo 7810 single cup coffee maker for those of you looking for a cheap one cup coffee maker to get you started.

The 7810 Senseo coffee machine is Senseo’s or Sara Lee’s or at the end of the day Philip’s entry level  model that uses their Senseo coffee pods. Senseo is a division of Sara Lee which is a division of Philips. Unlike the Keurig K Cup, the Senseo coffee pod lost its claim to uniqueness when the patent was turned down in the EU. This of course was an upset for Senseo coffee company, but what I believe to be a win for us as consumers. Now you can buy all sorts of Douwe Egberts Senseo coffee pods from a bunch of different coffee manufacturers.

The Senseo 7810 coffee maker is a pretty neat little unit. In as little as 45 seconds you can have what is arguably one of the freshest cups of coffee you’ve ever enjoyed. It will brew double strength (2 espresso pods) or regular strength (1 coffee pod) and it brews under pressure so you’ll get a nice robust flavor from most of the coffee pods you choose. Especially if you choose to brew 2 at a time which is often how I use the Senseo coffee maker when I’m feeling bold.

Here are some of the many features of the Senseo coffee maker:

  • This single serve coffee maker brews up to 8 ounces of coffee in under a minute
  • No mess with pre-measured single serve coffee pods in over a hundred varieties
  • Simple one button push operation for size and power
  • Dishwasher safe parts and no cross flavor pollution from ground coffee
  • 2 year warranty, twice the length of the Keurig coffee maker warranty

The Senseo coffee pods are roughly the same cost as the Keurig coffee pods, and the choice of variety is pretty competitive. However, the Senseo coffe machine costs less than similar model Keurig coffee machines and the Senseo 7810 coffee maker carries a warranty that is twice as long as the Keurig. Just like the Keurig, you can enjoy Senseo latte, Senseo espress, Senseo teas and Senseo hot chocolate. Plus, if you’re in a rush, the Senseo one cup coffee makers are about twice as fast at brewing as the Keurig coffee makers.

Here is what one happy customer had to say about their Senseo 7810 coffee pod coffee maker:

We have this machine, bought in 2004 and used 2-3 times a day. From the very beginning we were impressed with the Senseo. Push a button and 90 seconds later the water for coffee is at temperature. Push another button and you have a fresh cup of delicious hot coffee, complete with a nice “creama” or frothy top… Senseo coffee maker is an excellent machine and we recommend it highly. – Maugham S.
