Gaggia Carezza

We’re going back to the future with Michael J. Fox and the Gaggia Carezza. If you own one of these machines you know what I’m talking about. And if yours is still working then congratulations are in order. The problem that I have with mentioning semi automatic espresso machines that are new, or even new manual cappuccino machines is that they are only new for a few months to a year or so. Then the information becomes less relevant as time goes by. This is the case with the Gaggia Carezza. This not one of Gaggia’s automatic espresso machines but makes a very fine espresso cappuccino for a manual machine that is as old as it is. This Gaggia Carezza is testament to Gaggia’s enduring quality. Having said that, it is a manual espresso coffee maker and as such these machines do tend to last longer in my experience than the fully automatic cappuccino machines that I have used.

Understanding the Gaggia Carezza

I’m not going to make any assumptions here as to how you found this article on the Gaggia Carezza. This espresso cappuccino machine was unveiled to the public in early 2003 and was quite the success. Not only because it had a great price point, even back then, at just a hair under 200 bucks, but because it was simple to operate and easy to use.  I’m not going to go into great detail about the Gaggia Carezza because you either have it in which case you know all about this home espresso machine or you might want it and in that case you’ll have a hard time finding one to buy. And really, expecting a lot more life out of a 7 year old manual Gaggia espresso machine is a little optimistic. I’ve had my cappuccino machine for several years but it doesn’t owe me anything.

Many of you here might be looking for espresso machine parts and especially parts for Gaggia Carezza. I don’t have a ton of good news to give you, as I”ve searched the best I can to find some places for you to get your Gaggia Carezza spare parts, but there isn’t a lot out there. I suppose one shouldn’t be too surprised. When you’re paying a couple of hundred bucks for a coffee maker appliance, you shouldn’t expect that you’ll be able to keep it indefinitely. However, there is one place you might want to try and that is EspressoParts.com. I took a look around but didn’t find anything for the Gaggia Carezza specifically. You might have better luck nosing around.

Other options for finding a Gaggia Carezza

If you’re dead set on getting a Gaggia Carezza you can find the odd one at Amazon for around a hundred and fifty bucks or so. This is one way to have spare parts on hand, you can keep your old one for any parts you need. You can also find espresso machine accessories at Amazon too. And I know you shouldn’t have a huge problem getting an espresso tamper or portafilter for the Gaggia Carezza, Gaggia thankfully used their best accessories for those parts. And while you’re at it, get some coffee pods too.

Lastly, you might also want to take a look at places like Craigslist or ebay for used coffee equipment that might work with your Gaggia coffee machine. You never know what you’ll find. And at the end of the day, if you can’t, then please recycle as much as you can of your Gaggia Carezza and buy another Gaggia cappuccino machine. You can find a nice Gaggia Espresso Dose for around two hundred and fifty bucks if you look around and watch for sales. This should be a great replacement for your Gaggia Carezza.
