Welcome to our DeLonghi EC155 review. The DeLonghi EC155 espresso maker is a manual espresso maker by the well known coffee maker manufacturer DeLonghi. Though they are branching out, DeLonghi is still and foremost a coffee maker and espresso machine manufacturer.
The DeLonghi EC155 espresso machine is a pump driven manual espresso machine that offers 15 bars of pressure in the pump. The more pressure, the more compact you can pack your ground espresso beans and the more flavor can be extracted from your espresso beans. I usually look for 12 or more bars of pressure from my espresso machine and the EC155 offers that on the higher end. Excellent.
One of the main benefits of this DeLonghi EC 155 espresso machine is that it has a stainless steel boiler. For me this is important from a health perspective. Some pump espresso machines have aluminum boilers and there has been some evidence that cooking with aluminum (and boiling water in an espresso boiler is similar) can leach alumninum into the food or in this case coffee. And some might suggest that aluminum is part of what causes Alzheimer’s disease. So to play it safe I look for stainless steel as much as possible.
Here are just some of the many features of the DeLonghi EC155 coffee maker:
- Superior 15 bar pump pressure from DeLonghi’s stainless steel boiler
- Separate thermostats for both steam (frothing milk) and hot water (espresso)
- Will accept both freshly ground espresso or ESE espresso pods
- 35 ounce water tank is easily removable for refilling and frothing jet pivots
I’m a big fan of manual espresso machines like the DeLonghi espresso machine shown in this post. I like to play around with my espresso tamper and different roasts of espresso beans as well as the amount of espresso I use for that perfect espressso macchiato. The DeLonghi EC155 is a very easy to use manual espresso machine that is great for making 2 espresso based beverages or even just one for that matter at a time.

I love espresso, and this little baby makes a great cup. he water reservoir is a good size, you can make about 8-10 shots before you need to refill it… no wait time between frothing and brewing… I chose this machine after a lot of online researching, and decided on this one based on its outstanding reviews and great price. – Jennifer S.
