Cuisinart DCC-1200 Review

For less than a hundred bucks you can buy one of the best automatic coffee makers on the market. The Cuisinart DCC-1200 is what I’m talking about. Join me for this Cuisinart DCC 1200 review and I’ll explain why this coffee maker is a must have for the elegant kitchen.

For starters, the DCC-1200 has a programmable auto on feature as well as a programmable auto off feature. Programmable on is self explanatory, but the programmable auto off feature on the Cuisinart Brew Central DCC-1200 is very handy. You can program the coffee machine to go off anywhere from 0 to 4 hours after completing the brew cycle. I hate burnt coffee, so this feature is super handy.

The styling of the cheap Cuisinart 1200 is subtle and retro and the brushed stainless steel with black accents will fit perfectly smartly in any kitchen. The Cuisinart DCC 1200 coffee maker is a 12 cup programmable coffee maker which features a gold permanent coffee filter. I’m a huge fan of these because they’re better for the environment and they’re also cheaper over the long run.

Take a look at just some of the features of the Cuisinart DCC 1200 brew central:

  • This stainless steel coffee maker makes up to 12 five ounce cups of coffee
  • Brew pause feature with programmable shut off and auto on
  • Make as little as 1 cup or as many as 12
  • Water filter (charcoal) and adjustable warming plate temperature setting
  • Decalcification indicator light to prolong life with regular cleaning

The reservoir cover on the Cuisinart DCC 1200 slides away for easy access when pouring water into the carafe. The water is sprayed through the shower head designed spigot for even saturation of coffee ground and consistent water temperature. This programmable automatic coffee machine will take #4 paper coffee filters or you can use the included permanent filter. The machine beeps gently letting you know when the coffee has finished brewing and the carafe pours easily without dripping. I don’t know how many times I’ve had to place a cloth under my coffee carafe because the thing won’t pour right. This one pours perfectly and you get a 3 year warranty which is amongst the longest in the industry.

I’ve had the Cuisinart DCC-1200 for about a week now. This unit makes the best coffee I’ve had in a home or office machine and better than most coffee I’ve had in restaurants. The carafe has a good solid feel and balance. I like the permanent gold-tone filter too. I always thought paper filters were a pain. They’d fold over sometimes and there’d be grounds in my coffee. – Elaine C.
