Coffee vs. Green Tea Antioxidants

Oxidation is a chemical process which when it happens inside the body can produce free radicals which can start a chain reaction in the cell leading to the death of that cell. There are materials that can inhibit these chain reactions within the cell and these are called antioxidants. Antioxidants work by removing substances that are necessary for the oxidation process and make sure that it does not go through. In regards with oxidation coffee contains a lot of antioxidants that helps prevent aging in our bodies, aside from that, research is also pointing to some evidence that coffee can lead to a lowering of risk of cognitive problems.

Unlike coffee there has been no question regarding the effectiveness of tea or of its health benefits. For the centuries that it has been used as a drink in many parts of the world, it has been believed correctly that tea can bring in a lot of health benefits to the body. Evidence points out to the fact that drinking tea might help prevent the development of cancer and other major diseases.

The debate would go on as to which drink is actually better but research has proven that coffee contains more antioxidants than tea. Since both drinks are beneficial, your decision for which drink to use should depend totally on your own preference.
