The Best Coffee Makers For Different Budgets

Alright, let’s talk about coffee makers. In this article I’m going to try and succinctly offer solid reasons for the best coffee makers at different price points for all different budgets. I’ll also plan to make a post about the best choice in automatic espresso machines as well as which is the best coffee pod brewer when I get some time. So let’s jump right in as there is a lot of ground to cover. Now just because I’m offering you the best choice in the different divisions, doesn’t mean that another coffee pod maker or cappuccino machine isn’t any good. So if you have your heart set on a particular brand then please look around here as I have probably reviewed it.

The best overall of the coffee makers

First up is the best overall coffee maker that I have found. You can see to the image at the left that it is the Cuisinart Brew Central Coffee Maker also known as the Cuisinart DCC-1200. It retails for around $150 but you can click here and get it from Amazon for over 55% off of retail as I write this. It has almost a thousand 5 star reviews from Amazon, and gives you everything you’d want in a coffee maker. It includes auto-shutoff, brew-pause feature, your choice of brewing 1 to 4 cups or 5 to 12 cups of coffee. The heating plate’s temperature is adjustable and it also includes a gold filter and charcoal filter for the water. It makes up to 60 ounces (1.78 liters) which is one of the biggest carafes on the market, and it also has a very robust 3 year warranty.

The best of the coffee makers under $50

The next one is one of the cheap coffee makers and I’ve put this as the best in the under $50 category. Click here to see it or buy it at Amazon. This is a Black & Decker 12 Cup Programmable coffee maker also known as the Black & Decker DLX1050. Fully programmable and featuring auto-shut off as well as auto on. The heating plate is non-stick and this coffee machine also has the brew-pause feature and comes with a decent 2 year warranty. In my opinion this coffee maker offers the best bang for buck out there.

The best of the coffee makers at mid-price range

Carrying on with our coffee makers reviews we have the mid-range unit for the $50 to $100 price point. This unit is the Zojirushi Fresh Brew Thermal Carafe coffee maker also known as the Zojirushi EC-BD15. Click here to visit Amazon to check it out. I’ve written about the Zojirushi coffee maker before, and I particularly like this one because of it’s stainless steel and thermal coffee carafe. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m pretty clumsy and break quite a few glass carafes. It includes all the features you’ve come to expect in a programmable coffee maker and brews 50 ounces (1.5 liters) which is pretty good for a thermal carafe. It has a 1 year warranty but Zojirushi has been found to be pretty reliable. This is probably the best thermal carafe coffee maker out there.

The best of the coffee makers – grind and brew division

Instead of offering you coffee makers at the over $100 price point, which the best overall coffee maker the Cuisinart DCC-1200 would win, I wanted to offer you the best of the grind and brew coffee makers. Cuisinart makes terrific products including their Cuisinart coffee grinder and the Cuisinart grind and brew coffee maker. But the one that takes the cup here is the Capresso CoffeeTeam GS with Conical Burr Grinder. Click here to buy from Amazon. Combining all the features that you love of a programmable coffee maker with the features of a burr grinder, you get delicious fresh coffee like you’ve never had it before. The conical burr coffee grinder offers 5 coffee grind setting from coarse to fine and allows for 5 brew amounts or doses of ground coffee, whether you’re drinking by yourself or with a handful of friends. Another added benefit is that you don’t have to use the attached grinder. It has a grind bypass function so you can brew with your favorite pre-ground coffee beans too. Whether you want to brew with espresso coffee beans, 100 Kona coffee or just regular old Brazilian coffee, the choice is yours.

Well, there you have 4 options for different price points amongst the coffee makers. I hope this post has been helpful and given you some ideas on which of the coffee makers is going to make it into your home 🙂
